Opportunities To Get Involved

AAMFT-CA Opportunities to Get Involved

AAMFT-CA Leadership encourages and welcomes active participation of our members in the events and activities of the association. Presently, we are looking for people who would like to participate in the following:

• Legislative Advocacy Committee – this involves tracking legislation relevant to MFT practice and assisting the Division in the analysis and determination of relevancy. We would also ask for your assistance in actively advocating for selected legislation and enlisting the support of others.
  
  
• Student Leadership Team - we still have openings for members who would like to participate with a group of student leaders who are working with the Division to determine how we can support the needs of our future colleagues and grow the organization with new energy.
  
  
• BBS Meeting Representation - our Executive Director and/or Board member will be present at all scheduled BBS meetings to represent the thinking and state the position(s) of AAMFT-CA in issues related to licensing. Would you like to join us when the meeting is being held in your area (see 2007 Calendar section for dates and location)? We would welcome your participation and input.
  
  
• Educator’s Collaborative - we are seeking members who would like to work with Division leaders in creating an organization that would serve as a resource for curriculum development and on site placement training to support the advancement of the profession throughout California.
  
  
• Regional Groups - We have had inquiries from members who would like to establish regional groups in 2008 in Orange County and in the Bay Area. Would you like to be involved?
  
  
• Newsletter Articles - we always seek articles from our members for the AAMFT-CA Newsletter. Would you like to contribute?
